Attack from Above
You drop onto your opponent from a high perch.
Benefit:
You must be at least 5 feet above the head of your target to initiate this maneuver (assume a man and a horse both stand 5 feet tall for this purpose). The attack is resolved as a combat maneuver. You automatically get a +1 bonus due to higher ground. You get an additional +2 bonus if you have 5 or more ranks in Acrobatics.
If the maneuver is successful, target hit by an attack from above suffer 1d6 points of vitality damage and fall prone.
You must immediately make an Acrobatics check (DC 15) or suffer the same effects as your target.
You may instead initiate a grapple when performing this maneuver. In this case, you provoke an attack of opportunity from your opponent and the target suffers no damage from the initial attack from above.
You may also attempt to attack (but not grapple) multiple targets with an attack from above. You attack a 10 ft. by 10 ft. space, applying a –2 penalty per target to both your initial Combat Maneuver attack and your Acrobatics check to remain standing. All creatures hit by the attack fall prone.
Failure:
You take vitality damage as if you had fallen from the appropriate height, but land on your feet.
Extreme Failure (roll a natural 1 or fail the DC by 5):
You take normal damage as if you had fallen from the appropriate height and you fall prone next to your target.
