Evander Vesta (alican) Empty
PostSubject: Evander Vesta (alican)   Evander Vesta (alican) EmptyWed Oct 06, 2010 7:19 am

23. Sandpoint Tiyatrosu
Brand-new cathedrals aren’t the only incongruities
Sandpoint boasts. This massive playhouse, financed entirely
by its larger-than-life owner, Cyrdak Drokkus (male human
bard), features one of the most impressive theaters on this side
of Keoland—it certainly competes with the playhouses of Cryllor,
a fact that Cyrdak takes great pride in, since he was forced to flee
that city for mysterious reasons he’s eager to hint at but reticent
to expound upon (although they certainly involve another local of
note—Jasper Korvaski). The Sandpoint Theater often showcases
local talent, but it’s the three weekend shows that locals generally
look forward to. Cyrdak uses his contacts in Cryllor to great
extent, ensuring that the most exciting new productions in the big
city are available here as well. Although Cyrdak enjoys flirting with
all of Sandpoint’s young women, his romantic relationship with
Jasper (area 40) is one of the town’s worst-kept secrets.

18. Çatlakdiş'in Yeri
A particular favorite of patrons of the Sandpoint Theater, Cracktooth’s
Tavern is always full after the latest show at the nearby
playhouse lets out. A large stage gives actors, singers, and anyone
else the opportunity to show their stuff. Every night a crowd of
would-be entertainers packs the taproom in the hopes of being
discovered. Owner Jesk “Cracktooth” Berinni (male
half-orc) might look like a thug, but he’s actually quite
well-read and possesses a scathing wit—nights when he takes the
stage to deliver his observations on the political situations in Cryllor
are quite popular.

8. Bilge
The sole occupant of this ancient building is a cantankerous old
man named Brodert Quink (male human), a balding
expert on Keoish history and engineering. Brodert claims
to have spent two decades of his youth studying with dwarven
engineers at the Good Hills and three decades as a cataloger at the
Great Library of Cryllor, and is continually baffled and enraged
that his learning and obvious intelligence haven’t afforded him
more prestige. Brodert has been studying ancient
ruins for the past several years and has recently become obsessed
with the Old Light. No one believes his theories that the tower
was once a war machine capable of spewing fire to a range of
more than a mile.

17. Bottled Solutions
This cluttered shop is filled with shelves upon shelves of bottles,
bags, and other alchemical containers, some covered with dust
and others so new that the pungent stink of their brewing still
fills the air. Nisk Tander (male half-elf)
fancies himself a more gifted alchemist than he really is—items
he crafts always have some chance of not working as
intended, either being subdued, inert, or wildly unpredictable
in their actual effects. A good alchemist can examine and determine if
something purchased at Bottled Solutions is good or not, but
Nisk doesn’t take kindly to people looking too closely at his
wares before they buy.

22. Meraklı Goblin
The sign out in front of this shop shows a wide-eyed goblin reading
a book nearly as tall as him. Inside, this bookshop is a testament to
one man’s obsession with the printed word. Chask Haladan (male human)
has maintained his love affair with
books for nearly 70 years and shows no sign of giving it up any time
soon. His store is surprisingly complete, and while almost all of his
wares are far too pricy for any of the locals to shop here with any
frequency, a nest egg gathered in his adventurous youth combined
with a frugal lifestyle makes the success of his business secondary
to his own satisfaction. Several locals, including Brodert Quink,
Sabyl Sorn, and Ilsorai Gandethus can
often be found here, either chatting with Chask or sitting in one
of several large chairs, reading.

background trait:
Stage Magic
Source Adventurer's Armory 31
You have put in many hours practicing with flashy alchemical items that enhance your Perform skill. When you use an attention-getting alchemical item such as a flask of alchemist’s fire, smokestick, thunderstone, or another appropriate alchemical item (GM’s discretion) as part of a performance, you gain a +2 trait bonus on your Perform check for the duration of that performance. The item is expended without its normal effects and only serves to make your performance more impressive; for example, you could pretend to ignite yourself with alchemist’s fire as part of a Perform (comedy) check or make a dramatic appearance with a smokestick as part of a Perform (act) check, but you would not actually take fire damage or gain concealment from smoke.

social penalties about magic
• -2 circumstance penalty for having a noticeable magical effect or an obvious magical item in your possession.
Examples include having a floating animated shield, being bleached white, a glowing magical weapon, etc.
• -2 circumstance penalty for casting a spell with no visible effect or mimicking casting a spell (+2 circumstance
bonus to Intimidate checks, unless the viewer makes a spellcraft check).
• -6 circumstance penalty for not looking like an appropriate race when interacting with people (druids in wolf form
making a Diplomacy check, individuals under the affects of a polymorph any object spell, etc.)

criminal magic
Magical effects that change a person’s attitude, harm a person (physically or mentally), or hinder the
person’s ability to defend themselves are also considered criminal acts. If the perpetrator can be identified, but does not
fulfill his/her sentence, they would be considered Hunted or Wanted, depending upon the severity of the crime.
Spells and items:
• of a Necromantic nature,
• that result in the immediate (and unnatural) termination of life,
• that visibly involve evil extraplanar creatures,
• that mentally intrudes or subjugates someone, or
• that causes property damage.

Forbidden Activities
There are many curses, items, knowledge(s), spells, taints and secret enemy organizations/orders that are considered
Forbidden within the borders of Keoland. Hunter Organizations (Silent Ones, Knights of the Malgari, and the
Dreadwalkers) exist in order to protect the people in Keoland from powerful and dangerous magics by searching out
Forbidden materials, watching for suspect/criminal activities and enforcing the strict laws of Keoland. Anyone entering
Keoland with something Forbidden is at great risk. Participating in these activities, whether it is the casting of forbidden
spells, the possession of forbidden items, membership in forbidden groups, or access to forbidden knowledge, is
considered a high crime and the penalties are severe. Even nobles are not exempt from the penalties that result from
forbidden acts. Any Forbidden acts will immediately result in Hunted status within Keoland.

Forbidden Spells
Forbidden Spells are those that:
• Involve the creation/control of undead or lycanthropes
• Tap into the Plane of Shadow
• Create or maintain a bridge to another plane.
• That kill or target Good or Lawful persons
• Are Necromantic and have no obvious beneficial effects.
• Any item that duplicates an effect of a forbidden spell is also forbidden and would follow the same guidelines as the
forbidden spells. All cursed items or evil items/relics are also considered forbidden.

Brew Potion
You can create a potion of any 3rd-level or lower spell that you know and that targets one or more creatures. Brewing a potion takes 2 hours if its base price is 250 gp or less, otherwise brewing a potion takes 1 day for each 1,000 gp in its base price. When you create a potion, you set the caster level, which must be sufficient to cast the spell in question and no higher than your own level. To brew a potion, you must use up raw materials costing one half this base price.

When you create a potion, you make any choices that you would normally make when casting the spell. Whoever drinks the potion is the target of the spell.
